Mary Bullard and Gus Bullard
Celebrate their 70 year anniversary on May 25, 2017
Mary and Gus Bullard are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on May 25, 2017. Upon returning to Bladenboro, NC after serving in the US Marine Corps during WWII, Gus started his career with the US Postal Service. He spotted Mary as she arrived by train from Orangeburg, SC to begin her teaching career. He was heard to proclaim “she’s the one I am going to marry”. He proposed on their 3rd date and they were married at First Baptist Church of Bladenboro, NC on May 25, 1947.A big celebration is being planned by their children Barbara (Ned) Jervey from Isle of Palms, and Jan Bullard (Scott Williams) from Sarasota, Fl, their grandchildren, Travis Jervey (Christy) and Shana Jervey and their great- grandchildren Frazier and Johnnie Jervey of Mt. Pleasant.
