Celebrate their 70 year anniversary on October 11, 2017

celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Towne and Country Inn with a dinner party surrounded by their family and friends. They renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony conducted by Fr. Joseph Romanoski, Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church.
They were married by Fr. Buckley at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Spokane, Washington on Saturday, October 11, 1947. The couple moved to a suburb of Chicago called Franklin Park and lived there for 64 years before moving permanently to Charleston in 2014.
The couple have a son, Joseph David Miller who is married to Laura Fischer (Redondo Beach, CA) and a daughter Deborah Miller who lives in Charleston.
Mr. Miller retired from Continental H2O Conditioning and Mrs. Miller retired from her work in Quality Assurance at Duo Fast Corporation.
Together they traveled to 38 different countries; enjoyed square dancing as well as ballroom and line dancing; bowled on many winning teams; and were avid gardeners.
Mr. Miller was President of the Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) Branch 181 for 24 years while Mrs. Miller served as the Publicity Chair for the same organization for 24 years. He was an active member of both the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. She was the President of both the Catholic Women’s Organization (CWO) at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church and the Franklin Park Women’s Club.
