Along with friends and family, Bill and Sybil (Dennison) Yocum of Viera, FL will celebrate 50 years of marriage the week of June 6 in Folly Beach, SC. They were married at 4:00 PM on Saturday June 12, 1971 at the Yardley Methodist Church in Yardley (Bucks County), PA.
They will renew their vows at 4:00 PM on Saturday June 12, 2021 at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston, SC.

Story

Bill was born in Huntingdon, PA and grew up in Bucks County. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1971 and served on active duty as a submarine officer until 1979. They subsequently moved to Charleston, SC where Bill worked as an engineering consultant conducting specialized ship repairs and ultimately as an IT Security Certification specialist. Sybil was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Bucks County in 1964. Along with Bill, she graduated from Pennsbury HS in 1967. In Charleston Sybil worked as a Travel Agent and water aerobics instructor while also pursuing her passion for dance as a founding member of the Palmetto Oasis Middle Eastern Dance Troupe. They lived in Folly Beach prior to their retirement. In 2015, Sybil underwent a successful double lung transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. They currently reside at the Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) in Viera, FL.
