See 'Top Chef' Stephanie Izard's Wedding Cake
Chicago chef Stephanie Izard, winner of "Top Chef" season 4, wed her beer-consultant fiancé Gary Valentine on Sunday in the Windy City. And needless to say, food played a big part. Among the fare was aa family-style spread of red wine braised beef short ribs, roasted black cod with grilled fennel and heirloom tomato sauce.
But the real show-stopper was the cake. Created by Izard's Girl & the Goat pastry chef, Matthew Rice, the confection featured one layer of strawberry Nesquick and chocolate marble cake with a bacon buttercream frosting and another with Cheez-It cake with chocolate ganache, peanut butter and chocolate-covered Cheez-Its. A second cake was a groom's cake designed to look like a beer cask.
