Scuba Diving Couple Gets Married 12M Under the Sea

It was a small ceremony. A ringer bearer, a bridesmaid, a photographer. The altar area was decorated with fish statues and flowers, an ode to the ocean-loving couple.

There were I Do's. There was a kiss.

Then, the oxygen tanks were uncorked, sending celebratory bubbles to ocean surface.

Chris and Janet Wright had been together 20 years. Both being veteran scuba divers, the duo decided there was no better place to tie the knot than one of their favorite spots — under the sea.

The ceremony took place during a trip to the Maldives, 12 meters below the ocean's surface.

"It was totally amazing, they'd created a whole stage area with a swinging seat, it was completely magical," said the bride. "My big day was incredibly special, I couldn't imagine a better setting for our wedding."

The Wrights officially tied the knot with family and friends back in the U.K.
