How We Met
Greg and Megan met through their good friends. They took their time getting to know each other and learned the value of true friendship in the summer of 2012.
Even though, Greg knew several months before Megan did that he was hoping for that first date with Megan, he was patient with her playing at hard to get. It did not take that long for Megan to realize that Greg was truly a rare catch, and she, too, wanted to take the next step. In October 2012, Greg and Megan shared their first date at Sermet's Courtyard, with a private members' concert at Daniel Island Club. It was their best first date they have ever experienced: endless flowing conversations, chemistry that could not be broken, solid friendship, belly laughter and fun-filled smiles that still carry on today. From that day forward, they were together, falling in love and knowing they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together forever and always.
Since that date, the rest is history...
How We Got Engaged
Megan and Greg have created a bucket list that they want to complete in Charleston; "things to do" or "be a tourist in our own town." So Megan and Greg are accustomed to having some really great dates around their beautiful city. Greg mentioned casually, "let's have a date weekend, we can either go to the Hunley Submarine or the Angel Oak Tree, and it's your pick." Now that it has happened, Megan thinks, "I bet he was crossing his fingers, I would say the Angel Oak."
Greg, Megan's true love, knows her so very well, because, of course, she chose the romantic setting of the Angel Oak Tree. All went according to Greg's plan, and they traveled to the Angel Oak Tree. Greg planned a lovely romantic picnic paired with tasty wine, which lead to great conversations.
After lunch, the couple walked around the enchanting limbs of the enormous Oak, and Greg popped the question on one knee (with a few more sentimental lines) and of course, Megan said, "YES!!!"
