Lindsay Elise McMillan and Carlos Neil Elegado
Our Engagement Announcement
Mr. and Mrs. Julius H. McMillan Jr. of Charleston, SC are pleased to announce to engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Elise McMillan of Charleston, to Carlos Neil Elegado, also of Charleston. Carlos is the son of Mrs. Becky Kirsch of Cantonment, FL and the late Dr. Benicio Elegado of New Orleans, LA.
Miss McMillan is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McMillan Sr. of Charleston, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bottino of Toms River, NJ. She graduated from Bishop England High School in 1996 and earned a degree in business management from the University of Phoenix in 2006. Lindsay is currently employed by SPAWAR.
Mr. Elegado is the grandson the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel O’Neill of Rockport, TX and the late Mrs. and Mrs. Ildefonso Elegado of Manila, Philippines. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, FL in 1991 and from the University of Florida in 1995. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado – Denver in 2002, and he is also employed by SPAWAR.
The wedding is planned for February 13, 2015, at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC.
How We Met
We met on November 30, 2012 at a Stingrays hockey game. Even though we both work at SPAWAR, we had never met since we worked in different buildings. I organized a SPAWAR singles night at the North Charleston Coliseum, and Carlos sat next to me. We hit it off, and we went on our first date the very next night. We haven't been apart since! He is the kindest, most caring, and honest man I have ever been with. I finally met the love of my life and my best friend! We are very excited to begin our lives together as Mr. and Mrs. Elegado!
How We Got Engaged
We got engaged on Christmas Eve morning in 2014. It was simple and sweet, and it was the best Christmas gift I have ever received!
About the Ring
Carlos got me a 3 stone ring called a past, present, future ring from Polly's. It is perfect!
Our Shared Interests
We both love to kayak, fish, camp, garden, and travel together. We share a love of the mountains and have gone on several trips to the mountains of NC and GA.
Our Favorite Date Night
Friday night is our date night every week. Most of the time, we stay in and relax, but other times we go out to dinner and try out new restaurants in the Charleston area.
