Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walter Cockfield, Jr. of Hemingway, SC announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Leigh Cockfield, to Todd Burkett Avant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Daniel Avant of Wadmalaw Island, SC.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walter Cockfield, of Hemingway, SC and Mr. Robert Calvin Cantey, Jr. of Hemingway, SC and Mrs. Juanita McCracken Cantey, of Charleston, SC. She is a 2009 graduate of the University of South Carolina. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. Deva Leslie McCarter and the late Mrs. Shirley Inman McCarter of Florence, SC and the late Mr. William Thomas Avant of Macon, Georgia and the late Mrs. Martha Burkett Avant of Columbia, SC.
The wedding will take place on June 6, 2015, in Charleston, SC.
