Captain John Sterling Nichols Rush and Chaney Elizabeth Hiers

Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Waldo Hiers, Jr. of Varnville, South Carolina, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Chaney Elizabeth Hiers to Captain John Sterling Nichols Rush, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeb McKenzie Rush of Mandeville, Louisiana. A July wedding is planned.
Miss Hiers is a 2013 graduate of Clemson University and 2015 graduate of Louisiana State University with degrees in biological sciences and anthropology. Captain Rush is a 2013 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in defense and strategic studies. He is currently serving in the United States Army and stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska where the couple plan to reside.
