Our Wedding Announcement

Miss Courtney Leigh Parades of Charleston, SC and Mr. Jeffrey Walker Plotner of St. Simons Island, GA were united in marriage on May 31, 2014. The service was held at five o’clock at First Baptist Church in Charleston. Pastor R. Marshall Blalock officiated. The reception followed at Carolina Yacht Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. Parades. She is the granddaughter of Velma Y. Johnston of Denver, CO. A graduate of Wofford College, Courtney works for the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired as the Director of Programs.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Plotner of St. Simons, GA. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Walker of Bethel Park, PA and Mrs. Elizabeth A. Plotner of Pittsburgh, PA. Jeffrey also graduated from Wofford College, and he is the co-founder of Brackish Bow Ties.
Mrs. Ann Kimball Gustafson, Mrs. Lauren Miranda Miller, Mrs. Kari Lautenschlaeger Mizzell, and Mrs. Brislin Eiserhardt West were matrons of honor. Bride’s attendants included Mrs. Carrie DeLuca, Mrs. Hilary McDonough, Ms. Laura Phillipps, Mrs. Anne Reid, Mrs. Lindsay Skelton, Mrs. Amelia Walker, Mrs. Danielle Wegener, Dr. Caroline Wooten, and Mrs. Laura Wegener.

The rehearsal party was held at The Confederate Home on May 29th. After a wedding trip to Belize, the couple will make their home in Charleston.
