Elaine Elizabeth Hume and Nicholas Francis Boyer, both of Folly Beach, SC, were joined in marriage on October 4, 2014, at the Church of the Holy Communion in Charleston, SC at five o’clock in the evening. Father Dow Sanderson officiated, and Clara Godshall, organist, provided music for the ceremony. A reception followed at The Carolina Yacht Club, with musical entertainment by Vinyl Daze. The photographer was Stefanie Morris of sMm Photography.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Corey D. Hume of Hollywood, SC. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Mackey of Charleston, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hume of Summerville, SC. She graduated from Charleston County’s School of the Arts and Tulane University. She was a member of the 2005 Corps of Teach For America in New Orleans where she taught for 7 years. She currently is a campaign manager for the South Carolina chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis G. Boyer Jr. of Cranford, NJ. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Boyer Sr. of Hamilton Square, NJ and Mr. and Mrs. Gennaro Trotte of Cranford, NJ. He graduated from Cranford High School and attended Virginia Tech. Nicholas is a firefighter for the City of Charleston.
Matron of honor was Tess Whitney Halbrooks. Bride’s attendents included Benedicte Audrey Boutrouille, Olivia Wilbert Davis, Carrie Ann Hegenderfer, and Elizabeth Newell Mayhew.
The bride’s brother, David Dixon Hume, stood as best man. Groomsmen included Bryan Boyer and Scott Boyer, brothers of the groom; Daniel Petrino, cousin of the groom; and Patrick Jones.
On the eve of the wedding the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal party at Loggerhead's on Folly Beach. The couple will honeymoon in the North Carolina mountains and reside on Folly Beach.
