Elizabeth Darlington Walker and Richard Blake Bohler were united in marriage on Saturday, June 7, 2014, on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Walker, Jr. of Lexington, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Long of Charleston, South Carolina and the late Mr. and Mrs. William P. Walker of Georgetown, South Carolina. She is a graduate of Hammond School in Columbia, South Carolina and The College of Charleston. She also earned a Professional Photography degree from Boston University and now runs her own freelance photography business in Charleston, South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis R. Hicks of Scottsboro, Alabama and Mr. and Mrs. Millard B. Bohler of Horton, Alabama. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Millard F. Bohler of Mount Airy, Georgia; the late Carolyn M. Bohler of Jackson, Mississippi; the late Mr. and Mrs. William B. Patterson of St. Louis, Missouri; and the late Mrs. Regina W. Saunders of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Scottsboro High School located in Scottsboro, Alabama, attended Bryan College where he was a member of the basketball team and graduated from Coastal Carolina University. He is now a Catastrophe Claims Adjuster for Allstate Insurance Company.
The wedding ceremony was held at 6:30 pm at The River Course on Kiawah Island. The bride was given in marriage by her father William P. Walker, Jr. The ceremony was performed by James I. Morrow, the groom’s best friend. Music was provided by The Loyales and Charleston Virtuosi. The bride’s matron of honor was her sister-in-law, Amelia W. Walker. The groom’s best men were his brothers, Scott D. Bohler and Ryan M. Bohler. Ushers were Sean J. Bohler, brother of the groom; William P. Walker III, brother of the bride; and Steven W. Grainger, cousin of the groom. The bride and groom were accompanied by their nearest and dearest friends from their beginning: Laura B. James, Katherine K. Uhde, Emily C. Cavell, Claire D. Cavell Hale, Sara H. Prezioso, Katharine E. Gottfried, Nicole F. Cutrona, Sarah E. Jones, Anna E. Parsons, William J. Tunstall, Arthur J. S. Hanson III, Joshua W. S. Stone, and Jon N. Hale. The flower girls were Margaret C. S. Walker “Daisy”, niece of the bride and goddaughter of the groom, and Sadie K. Forman, niece of the groom. The rings were presented by Katherine K. Uhde, close friend of both the bride and groom. A reading was made by Natalie A. Long, cousin of the bride. Guests were greeted by Ashley C. Minkel, Georgia A. Kidd, Lauren A. Miller and Crystal B. Gbandi. The reception celebration followed in the clubhouse. The Rehearsal Dinner was held the night prior at The Ocean Course.
The couple honeymooned in The Greek Isles and now reside in Charleston, South Carolina.
