Elizabeth Carter Clawson and Mark Thomas Rinaldi, both of Astoria, NY, were united in holy matrimony on November 1, 2014. The five o’clock ceremony, officiated by the Reverend Anthony Kowbeidu, was held at St. Andrew’s Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Music for the service was provided by Emerald Empire. A reception immediately followed at The Carolina Yacht Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel R. Clawson of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Mapp Jr. and the late Mr. Mapp of Columbia, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Clawson of Hartsville, SC. Carter earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.S.W. from The University of South Carolina. She is a Deputy Director for the Center for Educational Innovation in New York, NY.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Rinaldi of Waterbury, CT. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donato Rinaldi and the late Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore Romanelli, all of Pontelandolfo, Italy. Mark earned a B.A. in English and Italian and an M.A. in Italian from The University of Connecticut and a PhD from City University of New York. He is an Immigration Specialist at Rockefeller University.
The bride’s attendants included Lauren Bondini, Lauren Clawson, Jaime O’Brien, Brigitte Shull, and Haywood Robinson. Flower girl was Alice Elizabeth Clawson.
Groomsmen were Nate Bondini, Sam Clawson Jr., Dan Franko, Danny Gellersen, and Ben LaSalata.
On the evening before the wedding the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Founder’s Hall at Charles Towne Landing. The couple will honeymoon in Santa Fe, NM and reside in Astoria, NY.
