Catherine Keely Dunn and Jerry Andrew Meehan Jr., both of Charleston, SC, were married at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Johns Island, SC on May 16, 2015. The Reverend James Shea, S.J., officiated the service. A reception followed at The Sanctuary Hotel on Kiawah Island.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Robert Dunn Jr. of Chevy Chase, MD. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Raymond Connolly Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Robert Dunn Sr., all of Washington, DC. Catie is a graduate of Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda, MD. She earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, a B.S.N. from MUSC, and a J.D. from the Charleston School of Law. She is an attorney with the Steinberg Law Firm in Charleston.
The groom is the son of Mr. Jerry Andrew Meehan Sr. of Anderson, SC and Ms. Andrea Elizabeth Dunaway of Murrells Inlet, SC. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Whitfield Dunaway Jr. of Anderson, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Meehan of Pendleton, SC. Jerry graduated from Waccamaw High School, the University of South Carolina, and the Charleston School of Law. He is self-employed.
Ms. Jeannie Etchart served as the Maid of Honor, and Mrs. Laurie Dunn was Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included Ms. Maureen Connolly, Ms. Streater Meehan, Mrs. Megan Sanders, and Mrs. Nessa Warley. Flower girls were Miss Grace Connolly and Miss Katherine Connolly, cousins of the bride.
Mr. Jerry Meehan Sr. stood as his son’s Best Man. Groomsmen included Dr. Clayton Crantford, Mr. William Crantford, Mr. Field Dunaway, Mr. Colin Dunn, Mr. Evan Sullivan, and Mr. Jeremiah Williams. Master Jack Connolly, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
A rehearsal party was held at the River Course at the Kiawah Island Club. After a wedding trip to Jumby Bay, Antigua, the couple will reside in Charleston, SC.
