Kathryn Tucker Cole of Sullivan’s Island, SC and Wiley Jay Becker of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL were married on June 20, 2015, at the Historic Rice Mill in Charleston, SC. The Reverend John Hage of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church officiated the six o’clock ceremony. Music was provided by the Blue Plantation Band.

On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the bride and groom hosted a welcome party for guests at Charleston Distilling Co.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cole of Sullivan’s Island, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lois Sturgis of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She earned a B.S. from Davidson College and a Masters in Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship from The Johns Hopkins University. Kathryn is the founder of Charleston-based Translational Science Solutions, LLC.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Becker II of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. He is the grandson of Mr. Arthur Olsen, also of Ponte Vedra Beach. He earned a B.S. from Davidson College and an MBA from Wake Forest University. He is a partner at Alerion Ventures in Charleston.

The bride wore a floral gown in embroidered cotton lace from Modern Trousseau. It featured a sweetheart neckline and a sweep train, and was finished with a grosgrain ribbon at the waist.

Elizabeth Cole, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. William Long Jr., of Statesville, NC, was best man.

The couple enjoyed a week-long trip to the California wine country following the wedding festivities, and they now reside in Charleston.
