Anna Susan Ardis of Goose Creek, SC and Daniel Bland McSweeney of Charleston, SC were married at six o’clock in the evening at the Historic Rice Mill on July 26, 2015. The Reverend Steve Vickers performed the ceremony. A reception followed, and Nice Guys DJ provided entertainment.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ardis (Susanna) of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Graydon (Anna) of Beaufort, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ardis (Sudie) of Columbia, SC. Anna earned an MAT in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston and works for the Berkeley County School District.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Shortreed (Rebecca) of Columbia, SC and the late Mr. Edward McSweeney of Cork, Ireland. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bland (Meredith) of Little River, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dennis McSweeney (Agnes) of Cork, Irleland. Daniel earned a BFA in Ceramics from Kansas City Art Institute, and he works for The Artist’s Loft and The City Marina.
Kym Lawrence served as matron of honor. Bride’s attendants were Stephanie McCary, Mary Alice Wasden, and Colleen Vowles. The flower girls were Kaitlyn Ardis and Caroline Ardis.
The groom’s brother, Patrick McSweeney, was best man. Zachary Hart, William Ardis, and Christopher Ardis were groomsmen. The ring bearers were Daniel Vowles and Zachery Vowles. A rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. William Shortreed at Circa 1886 on July 25, 2015.
The couple will honeymoon in the mountains of North Carolina and will reside in their home in Goose Creek and on their boat in Charleston.
