Katharine Lee Claussen and Brockman Davis Smith

Katharine Lee Claussen of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Brockman Davis Smith of Greenville, SC were united in marriage on June 20, 2015, at the Daniel Island Club on Daniel Island, SC. Mr. Warrick Hennigar performed the ceremony at half past six in the evening, and Charleston Virtuosi provided music. A reception followed at the Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Christian Claussen III of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Katharine D. Franz of Titusville, FL and the late Mr. and Mrs. August C. Claussen Jr. She is a graduate of Wofford College and the Medical University of South Carolina. Kalee is currently completing a Periodontics residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Hollis Davis Lynch and Dr. Grant Meredith Smith, both of Greenville, SC. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Melville Davis and the late Dr. and Mrs. Stanley T. Smith. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina. Brock is currently completing a Prosthodontics residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The bride wore a French Alencon lace gown over a silk charmeuse with cap sleeves and a keyhole back, accessorized by an antique Belgian lace veil which is a Davis family heirloom. Her matron of honor was Mrs. Jacquelyn Tankersley Sullivan, and her maid of honor was Miss Monica Michele Wooten. Bride’s attendants included Mary Blanton Covell, Emilie Glenn DeTreville, Sarah Shelley Ford, Marghretta Adeline Hagood, Dana Elizabeth Molony, Meredith Smith Papapieris, Hollis Ashley Smith, and Laurie Elizabeth Traywick.
Dr. Grant Meredith Smith stood as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Andrews McKissick Duffey, Tatum Zeigler Flynn, Andrew William Gonick, Stephen Matthew Harris Jr., Ryan Lewis Johnston, Kevin Joseph Malloy, Alexandros Demitrius Papapieris, Colin Medford Smith, and Allen Daniel Stephenson.
A rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at Marion’s on Friday evening. The couple honeymooned in The British Virgin Islands, and they now reside in Birmingham, AL.
