Location of Wedding:

Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Eugene Henson, Jr. of Germantown, Tennessee, announce the marriage of their daughter, Stephanie Ann Henson, to James Riley McNab III, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Riley McNab, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina. The couple was united in holy matrimony at 7 o’clock in the evening on May 2, 2015, at The Cloister Chapel in Sea Island, Georgia. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend James William Barrow, Jr.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. William Burton Barrow of Fort Myers, Florida, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Eugene Henson of Jackson, Mississippi. She attended The University of Mississippi, majoring in accounting (magna cum laude), and received a Master of Accountancy. The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frederick Wachholz of Westfield, Wisconsin, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Riley McNab of Rock Hill, South Carolina. He attended Davidson College, majoring in history (magna cum laude), and received his MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture designer gown of ivory antiqued lace and a cathedral train. Her veil was her sister’s worn in 2004. She wore several antique family heirlooms in addition to a bracelet given to her when she made her debut in Jackson, Mississippi, in 2005. The bridal bouquet consisted of white hydrangeas, peonies and garden roses, tied with her paternal grandmother’s handkerchief. Wrought iron candelabras adorned the front of the chapel with lemon leaf garland and the pews were marked with ivory hydrangeas and greenery tied with silk ribbon. The couple took part in communion as their first activity as husband and wife.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Staci Henson Tyler of Ridgeland, Mississippi. Bridesmaids were the bridegroom’s sisters, Elizabeth Scott McNab Brisson of Charleston, South Carolina, and Esther McNab Farnham of Charlotte, North Carolina. They wore coral Shoshanna cocktail dresses and carried bouquets consisting of antique blue hydrangeas, coral roses, hypericum berries, thistle and maiden hair fern wrapped with an ivory ribbon. The mothers’ bouquets consisted of ivory garden roses wrapped in the bride’s paternal grandmother’s handkerchiefs. The bridegroom’s niece, Mary Scott Brisson, performed a violin solo of Vivaldi’s Spring during the ceremony. Flower girls and honorary flower girl were the bridegroom’s nieces, Elizabeth McNab Brisson, Sally McNab Farnham, and Esther DeMoss Brisson.
The bridegroom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Theodore Edward Brisson of Charleston, South Carolina, Samuel Erskine Farnham of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Thomas Brent Tyler of Ridgeland, Mississippi. The bride’s nephew, Thomas Henson Tyler, was the ring bearer. He carried a Bible given to the bride’s mother by her grandparents in 1960. Program attendants were the bridegroom’s nephews, Theodore Edward Brisson, Jr., Benjamin Jenkins Farnham, and Samuel Erskine Farnham, Jr. The men wore thistle on their tuxedos to note the McNab Scottish heritage.
Scripture readers were Mrs. Katherine Mercer Amy, Mr. Jason Stephen Baran, and Mr. Clayton Thomas Spencer. Nuptial music was provided by Dr. Shannon Lockwood, cellist, Pegge Ealum, flutist, and Cameron Cody, pianist.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party and guests were escorted at sunset along the marsh to an outdoor cocktail reception with a jazz duet. The escort cards, displayed on silver trays surrounded by blue and white ginger jars filled with areca palms, hydrangeas, and maiden hair fern, were presented to each guest with a personalized, hand-written note from the bride and bridegroom. Guests enjoyed a formal seated dinner and dancing in The Cloister Clubroom with music by “Now is the Time.” The table centerpieces featured lush floral compositions of hydrangeas, white roses and greenery accents in silver pedestal bowls with silver candlesticks, mercury votives, and trumpet vases surrounding the arrangements. The linens were ivory lace dupioni and the tables were set with white washed Chiavari chairs, Spode Blue Italian china, Juliska chargers, and ivory hemstitch napkins. The wedding cake was custom designed by Katie Schultz at The Cloister. The bride and bridegroom cut their wedding cake using a silver knife that was used at both the bride’s parents and sister’s weddings, and toasted with champagne flutes gifted to them by the mother of the groom. The couple departed with a synchronized fountain sparkler firework display.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a Scottish themed dinner for all wedding guests at Ocean Forest Golf Club. The bride wore her paternal grandmother’s gold silk dress, given to the late Mrs. Henson on a trip to New York City with her husband in the 1960s. The bridegroom wore a handmade McNab tartan tie from Scotland. The bridegroom gave the bride a custom designed McNab tartan dress during his toast, which the bride wore for the post-dinner dance.
The wedding coordinators were Ms. Kacee Popa and Ms. Danielle Smith and the designer was Mr. Corey McCants. The rehearsal dinner coordinator and designer was Ms. Ann Heins and the floral assistant was Mr. Tom Payne.
After a wedding trip to the Four Seasons Hualalai on the Kona-Kohala Coast in Hawaii, the couple is at home in New York City.
