Marion Porcher Maybank and James Mac Easley were married on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Lavington, a family home, in Green Pond, SC. The 3 p.m. ceremony was performed by The Very Reverend J. Michael A. Wright, Rector and Dean of Grace Church Cathedral, Charleston, SC. The ceremony was immediately followed by a reception at Lavington.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. John Frampton Maybank and the late Mr. Maybank. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Maybank of Charleston, SC, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Glenn McCracken of Spartanburg, SC. Marion is a graduate of Ashley Hall in Charleston, SC, and Centre College in Danville, KY.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Neil Easley of Washoe Valley, NV, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Oscar Easley of Wise River, MT, the late Jean Odom Easley of San Angelo, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rex Vernon McCarty of San Saba, Texas. Mac is a graduate of Winfree Academy in Lewisville, Texas, and the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
The matron of honor was Cameron Semmes Stoll and the bridesmaids were Sarah Decker Coleman, the groom’s sister Amanda Coleen Easley, Stephanie Smythe Harris and Gillian Danielle Knapp. The flower girls were the bride’s cousins: Catherine Morrow Hagood, Mary Margaret Phelan Hagood and Virginia Maybank Hagood.
The groom’s best man was Joshua Ezekiel Mims. Matthew Fender Harris, Anthony Joseph Scallon, Jon David Schmidt and Jasen Adam Shelley were the groomsmen.
Readers were Nancy Lilly Hagood, cousin of the bride, and Steven Neil Easley, father of the groom.
The bride wore an ivory, taffeta wedding gown and a princess and rose point lace veil, belonging to her aunt and made by hand in Brussels, Belgium. Music for the ceremony was provided by a string quartet: Thomas Jakubek, violin; Stephanie Silvestri, violin; Daniel Urbanowicz, viola and Ellen Dressler Moryl, cello.
Both the bride and the groom have careers in horse show management. They will reside in Larkspur, Colorado.
