Ashley Marie Miller of Goose Creek, SC and Matthew Blake Welch of Suwanee, GA were married on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Founders Hall, Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site, Charleston, SC. The 6:00 p.m. ceremony was performed by Judge Molly Edwards and a reception immediately followed.
The bride is the daughter of Dean and Kathy Miller of Goose Creek, SC. She is the granddaughter of Teresa Bostanic and the late Mike Bostanic of Rochester, PA, Nancy McNitt of New Brighton, PA and Dean Miller of Chicago, IL. Ashley is a graduate of Winthrop University and The College of Charleston. She is a fifth grade teacher for Gwinnett County Public Schools in Sugar Hill, GA.
The groom is the son of Geno and Jan Welch of Suwannee, GA. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hochgertle and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Welch. Matt is a graduate of Valdosta State University and is a PE teacher and coach at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, GA.
The maid of honor was Crystal Hodge, attendants were Tarah McCurry Ballenger, Diana Richardson Guest, Erin Friday Welch, and flower girl Miss Charlee Shaw.
Brian Welch was the best man and Victor Prince, Chris Shaw and Geno Welch were the groomsmen. The groom’s nephew, Connor Welch, was the ring bearer.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents on Thursday at Southend Brewery. The couple will honeymoon in Jamaica and reside in Dacula, GA.
