Miss Courtney Louise Springman of Atlanta, GA and Mr. Brooks Easter DuBose of Charleston, SC were united in marriage on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at half past five in the afternoon at the Waterside Chapel of Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, SC. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Chuck Roberts, pastor at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA. Flowers adorned the cross within the chapel in loving memory of the groom’s father. Music for the ceremony and reception was provided by Equinox Orchestra of Savannah. Following the ceremony, a dinner and reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held on the May River Lawn followed by dancing in the Oak River Ballroom with music provided by the Right On Band of Virginia Beach.
The bride, 35, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jacob Springman of Atlanta, GA and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gervase Springman of Altoona, PA and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Gault, Jr. of Bellwood, PA. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing and later received a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Emory University. Courtney was employed with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for 12 years as both a nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner caring for children with cancer and blood disorders.
The bridegroom, 40, is the son of Mrs. Charles Wills DuBose and the late Mr. Charles Wills DuBose of Camden, SC. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald Woodward Easter of Charlottesville, VA. Brooks graduated from Hampton-Sydney College with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics. He is an Enterprise Account Executive with DocuSign.
The bride was given away in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a beautiful strapless Oscar de la Renta gown and carried a bouquet of light pink peonies along with her grandmother’s handkerchief. Her cathedral length train, previously worn by her sister, was personalized with both the bride’s and her sister’s maiden monograms.
Mrs. Brooke Springman Brennan, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Maid of Honor was Miss. Edith Wills Dubose, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Karen Elizabeth Carter, Lindsay Florence Clonts, Katherine Evans Houser, Lauren Sarah Jones, Caroline Chia Kuo, Emily Elizabeth Muhlberger, Erin Danielle Papka, and Emily Elizabeth Sandberg.
Mr. Douglas Follet Easter, cousin of the groom, served as best man and the groomsmen were Burwell Desaussure Boykin, James Micheal Brennan, Graham Kennedy DuBose, Jr., John Phillip Griswold, David William Douglas Maley, Jason David Porter, William Page Sands, Carter Moore Sherwood, and Paul Jacob Springman, Jr., brother of the bride.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held by the groom’s mother at the Oak Ballroom.
Following the honeymoon in Italy, Courtney and Brooks will reside in Charleston, SC.
