Alexandra Elizabeth Utsey and Christopher Edward Jones, both of Washington, DC, were married on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the French Huguenot Church in Charleston, SC. The Reverend Doctor Wendell Thomas Guerry officiated the ceremony. The reader at the ceremony was Yuji Huang Newby of London, England.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Utsey, Jr. of Orangeburg, SC and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Capers Wannamaker, Jr. of Orangeburg, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Utsey of St. George, SC. Alexandra holds a Bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University and a Master’s in Public Affairs from Princeton University. She is employed by the Department of Defense in Arlington, VA.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lee Jones III of Danville, VA and the grandson of Mrs. Edward Lee Jones, Jr. of Richmond, VA, the late Mr. Edward Lee Jones, Jr. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Donald Lurton Arey of Danville, VA. Christopher holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a Juris Doctorate degree from George Mason University. He is employed by Congressman Rick Crawford.
The bride was given away by her parents. Accompanying the bride were Laura Anne Roquemore McLaurin, matron of honor, and bridesmaids Emma Lucille Wannamaker and Mary Grayson Harder, both cousins of the bride.
Patrick Andrew Jones was the best man and Robert Lee Utsey III and William Scott Utsey, both brothers of the bride, were groomsmen. Ushers were David Lawson Blair, Kenneth Brent Thomas, both friends of the groom, and William Capers Wannamaker IV and Parker Neal Wannamaker, both cousins of the bride.
After a honeymoon in Greece and France, the couple will reside in Washington, DC.
