Sarah Caroline Rodelsperger of Johns Island, SC and Demitri Emanuel Rickman of Charleston, SC, were married on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Charleston, SC. The Reverend Conrad Monroe Brown performed the ceremony. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Dr. Beverly Cox Bradley and soloist Miss Anna Martha Thigpen. A reception followed at Wingate Plantation.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. George Edward Rodelsperger, Jr. of Johns Island, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Donald Leslie Lassig and the late Mr. Donald Leslie Lassig of Mount Pleasant, SC and Mrs. George Edward Rodelsperger, Sr. and the late Mr. George Edward Rodelsperger, Sr, of Newberry, SC. Sarah graduated from Clemson University and is co-owner and Event Coordinator of Wingate Plantation.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Fontaine Rickman Battistelli of Charleston, SC and the late Mr. Jay Dee Rickman, Jr. of Lexington, SC. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Dee Rickman, Sr. of Lexington, SC and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Steve Redman of Charleston, SC. Demitri holds a Bachelor’s degree from The Citadel and a Juris Doctorate degree from Charlotte School of Law. He is employed by the Clekis Law Firm.
The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown and veil. The gown is a silk organza enhanced with an overlay of embroidered alençon lace, seed pearls and crystals. The dress was redesigned by Emily Kotarski Bridal of Charleston, SC.
Mrs. Elizabeth Rodelsperger Curry and Mrs. Holly Renken Rodelsperger were matrons of honor. The bride’s attendants were Miss Lauren Ashley Bolen, Mrs. Taylor Benton Birchfield, Dr. Melissa Paige McKeithan Cisa, Miss Mary Alexis Prickett, Miss Allison Ann Rodelsperger, Miss Emma Elizabeth Rodelsperger and Mrs. Christine Ferguson Wilson.
Mr. John Fitzgerald Paparozzi, Jr. was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Jacob Gregory Allen, Dr. Jason Andrew Curry, Mr. Bradley Ryan Estes, Mr. Andrew Chase Jones, Mr. Kenneth Pham, Mr. Christian Cole Rickman, Mr. Jacob Alexander Rickman and Dr. Robert Peter Rodelsperger, Sr. Master Robert Peter Rodelsperger, Jr. was the ring bearer.
A rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Dominick Joseph Battistelli, Jr. at the Cooper River Room.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will reside in Charleston, SC.
