Rebecca Lasley Shirer of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Justin Daniel Gooding of Charleston, S.C. were united in marriage at 5:00 p.m. on
Saturday, June 23, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Charleston, S.C. William Harold Heape of Cummings, SC. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverends Robert Marshall Blalock and Joseph Boyd Douglas.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Howard Shirer, Jr. of Orangeburg, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Otto Warren, Jr. of Orangeburg, S.C. and the late Mr. Warren, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Howard Shirer, Sr. of Elloree, S.C.
The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Daniel Rudolph Gooding of Varnville, S.C. and the late Mr. Gooding. He is the grandson of Mrs. Rudolph Gooding of Varnville, S.C. and the late Mr. Gooding, and the late Mr. and Mrs.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Maids of honor were Susan Warren Shirer and Emily Rutledge Shirer, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Nicole Gooding Bennett, sister of the groom; Amanda Dickens Culler, cousin of the bride; Anna Marie Wrightenberry Evans; Emily Ann Wofford Evans; Georgia Somers Maky Farmer; Rebecca Crosby Kukulka; Catherine Ellis Shirer, cousin of the bride; and Sommer Gooding Shultzman, sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaids were Annie Bray Bennett and Gracie Nicole Shultzman, nieces of the groom. Flower girls were Anna Catherine Evans and Harper Kinsey Shirer, cousins of the bride, and Anabelle Reese Shultzman, niece of the groom. Honorary bridesmaids were English Kinsey Davidson, cousin of the bride; Elizabeth Lankford Lewis, Kathryn Lauren Padgett, and Laura Varn Stevens. Harold Lyman Bennett and Micah Lee Shultzman, brothers-in-law of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Harold Tucker Bennett, nephew of the groom; Austin Howell Crosby; Bradley Allen Frazier; Andrew Carter Gault; Charles Jacob Grill; Adam Todd Hoy; Miles Richard Warren; and Salvatore James Zingales. Junior groomsmen were Daniel Law Bennett, nephew of the groom, and Jackson Bradley Shirer, cousin of the bride. The ring bearer was Hank Bentley Shirer, cousin of the bride. Program attendants were Bailey Caroline Brunson and Caroline Elizabeth Shirer, cousins of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a bachelor of science in Accounting and Business Administration and is licensed as a CPA in the state of South Carolina. She is the Accounting Manager for WSB Retail Partners, LLC. The groom is a graduate of Charleston Southern University with a bachelor of arts in Business and a graduate of BB&T University's Leadership Development Program. He is a mortgage loan originator with Tabor Mortgage Group.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Lowndes Grove Plantation. After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Charleston.
