Elizabeth Elliott Thomas and John Alexander Kincaid were married on June 26, 2021 at six o’clock in the evening at St. Michael’s Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Reverend Alfred T. K. Zadig, Jr. officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at the Carolina Yacht Club.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Milton Thomas, III of Charleston, SC. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Margaret Pinckney Elliott of Charleston, SC, Dr. and Mrs. William Milnes Edwards of Edisto Island, SC and Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Robert Marsden Knight of Charleston, SC. Elliott is a 2015 graduate of Clemson University and is employed as a Divisional Marketing Leader with Movement Mortgage, Charleston, SC.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ralph Kincaid of Charlotte, NC. He is the grandson of Mr. George Emmett Kincaid and the late Hester Nell Gann Kincaid and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Baxter Craven, Jr., all of Charlotte, NC. John is a 2014 graduate of Appalachian State University and a 2016 graduate of Clemson University with a Master of Real Estate Development. He is employed as a Commercial Broker with Lee and Associates, Charleston, SC.
Maid of Honor was Jessie Rose Wiseman Lowder of Charleston, SC. Also attending were bridesmaids Caroline Betts Chester of Columbia, SC, Lauren Briana Lowell of Augusta, GA, Lacey Jones Mitchener of Charlotte, NC and Caroline Eva Patsy of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The bride’s cousins, Elizabeth Anne Moise, Kathryn Cole Sherrod and Charlotte Newberry Sherrod, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC served as honorary bridesmaids.
William Craven Kincaid of St. Augustine, FL served as his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Grayson Christopher Atwood of Charlotte, NC, Alex William Leach of Huntersville, NC, Mitchell Dale Wagner of Grand Junction, CO and brother of the bride, Robert Milton Thomas, IV of Austin, TX.
Chandler Caroline Edwards and Ruthie Jennings Edwards served as flower girls. Carolina Ellie Thomas served as a greeter, and Robert Mason Moise, Jr. was the crucifer of the ceremony. All are cousins of the bride. Scripture readers were Charlotte Newberry Sherrod and Davis Patrick Inman.
Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Romona Keveza white silk shantung ball gown with a sweetheart neckline, covered buttons and princess seaming. She carried a beautiful monochromatic bouquet of white nerine lilies.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at The Country Club of Charleston on June 25, 2021.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Playa del Carmen, Mexico at Rosewood Mayakoba, and reside in Charleston, SC.
