Miss Laura Elizabeth Morgan of West Plains, MO and Mr. Jason Clark Messervy of Charleston, SC, were married on August 14, 2013, on the white sands island of Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands, at Magenís Bay. The Rev. Harvard Stephens Jr. performed the private 10 a.m. ceremony. Beach side champagne toasts and cutting of the cake followed. A lunch reception was held at Grande Cru followed by a guided tour of the island. The bride wore a simply elegant strapless empire crinkle chiffon gown featuring soft symmetrical draping criss-cross ruching on the bodice. In her long jet black hair Laura wore a modern bridal clip of white feathers accented with pearls and crystals. Laura carried an overflowing bouquet of exotic Caribbean pink hibiscus and orange and yellow day lilies tied with white ribbon. Her chiffon train blew in the Breeze as she walked the palm tree lined trail. On the sand lined arrangements of large palm leaves, pink couches and starfish to the water. Laura was escorted by her son Carter Chai Mogan who was dressed island style in a white shirt, khaki shorts and sandals.
The beaming bride is the daughter of Ms. Alva Chai Gerlach and the late Rev. John William Gerlach of West Plains, MO.
The groom is the son of Mr. Anthony Craig Messervy and Mrs. Kim Orme of Charleston, SC. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Don Alvin Messervy and Mrs. Betty Clark Messervy .
Laura graduated in May 2013 as an R.N. from Missouri State University. Jason graduated from College of Charleston in May 2007 with a B.S. in biology. After graduation, Jason attended the School of Osteopathic Medicine at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences for which he will graduate this upcoming May 2014.
The lovely couple remained in St. Thomas for their honeymoon and will begin their life together in West Plains, MO.
